The obsolete 6pm rule

Context: The professor was explaining the reason why post-mortems used to be conducted before 6pm in earlier days. Among the reasons he cited was that those days they relied on natural light to examine the body. So they had to get it done before it got dark. But then he said…

… nowadays post-mortems can be conducted even in the dead of the night.
